In 1995, J.D. co-founded CyberGold (CGLD), an Internet payments and loyalty marketing company. As the CFO, the company grew from three co-founders to 150 employees through a successful IPO in 1999. In 2000 he merged CyberGold with a competitor, Mypoints (MYPT). As CFO of the combined company, Mypoints was acquired by United Airlines (UAL) in 2001 where John served as SVP of Strategic Relationships.
